Inspired by the chic New York City woman, Jay Godfrey is known for his figure flattering dresses. This season he stepped outside of the box and brought us the Electric West. Tea stained ivory lace, suede fringe, stretch denim and embellished fabrics were the palette for this rocker chic collection. Godfrey was influenced by rock n’ rollers of the late 60’s and early 70’s who infused country and wester tones into their aesthetics.
The vibe of wester rocker filled the air with a live concert by Idgy Dean in the center of the models. I loved the effortlessly chic style that the girls rocked. Who can say no to a lace and fringe jacket paired with a little black dress. The whole look was just dying to be danced in. A neutral color palate with one bright pop colored gown was the perfect statement. In this collection, texture was the center of attention. Suede, lace, denim, and even a fully sequined suit played perfectly on each other.
Highlights of the collection: Chevron sequin tuxedo, emerald green side fringe gown, layered fringe poncho and the black burnout floral maxi skirt paired with the white collared zip up crop top.
Accessories Highlights: Fringe cuff and agate bolo necklace by Susanna Galanis
