I will fully admit that I am a sucker for a blazer. I recently was doing a bit of spring cleaning and realized I have at least 15 black blazers in my closet, all of which I can’t get rid of and seem to feel they have different uses and needs. I realize this makes absolutely no sense and should get rid of at least 50% of them. At this point though, it’s going to require one of my friends and built-in stylists to make me purge them.
A great blazer, pair of jeans and classic white tee has been my go to uniform for years.
On days when nothing else will do, that look always seems to work. My current blazer love affair is with this number from Veronica Beard. I’ve been following the brand for a few years now and know their outerwear and jackets will always make me feel like a million bucks. This double breasted version that I picked up from Intermix is great if you’re looking for a piece that is super versatile. The fabric is a lightweight dark blue wool herringbone with a strong shoulder and just the right length to wear with jeans. Also, one of my favorite parts about the jacket selection from Veronica Beard is they have optional “dickies” you can zip into the interior and change up the look. I have a leather moto jacket dickie from a VB camel coat that can transition into my blazer.
When looking to effortlessly style a blazer,
I like to keep my accessories “simplish”. These boots from Stuart Weitzman are anything but simple. They create a long line that helps you look lean, and a little bit taller than you are. The bag Joanna Maxham is my current all day essential and chameleon of a bag. It holds an entire day’s worth of stuff (laptop, workout clothes, notebook, makeup bag, etc) and is super chic with this jacket. I have the all leather version, but they just recently launched new fabrication which is great for an everyday bag.
Here are my favorite blazers from Veronica Beard this season, many of which you can purchase dickies to zip in for a whole different look:
