Hello again from Beaune!  Whenever Trevor and I travel we seem to find ourselves in once in a lifetime situations.  And this day was no exception.  We met up with a friend for lunch that we met last time we were in France.  He speaks very little English, and we speak very little French.  So needless to say, our conversations involve large gestures and what looks like a game of charades! Our friend surprised us and asked if we would like to meet one of his friends who is something of a wine distributor.  We drove up to the currently closed distributor’s office, wondering if we would ever be seen again.  He was nice enough to host us on his day off and open his doors.  The next few hours were spent drinking bottles that I had the feeling were exceptional!  When we asked our friend exactly what the distributor friend did he explained, “He finds exceptional wines for exceptional people”.  Needless to say we were blown away by the little bit of exceptional wine he shared with us.  So here’s a little taste of our exceptional visit to Beaune and the wonderful people we met!
