The Great Chateau Hunt

Welcome to Chateau #1, Chateau Challain! Now I’ll be honest, there was actually a different chateau number 1 but it didn’t make the cut. Trevor and I actually had a moment on our way up the drive of real chateau number 1 and wondered where the heck we went wrong/holy crap I hope their photographer made a ton of money off that job because he/she made it look fantastic!!!! So back on track, we drove from Paris to a small town outside of Conde. This beautiful chateau hidden in the French country side is about as grand as it gets. Four towering stories greet you as you drive up the majestic entry. Come on a tour with me of the grounds, interiors, and AMAZING marble staircase. Oh yeah, and there’s a photo shoot!

NYFW Fall 14- How To Dress For The Cold

It’s one thing to dress for fashion week when its warm and giant snow banks aren’t an issue. It’s a whole other story when freezing cold temperatures are involved and the weather has held your closet full of Louboutins hostage! So what does that mean!? It’s time to break out the leather pants, chic sneakers (or for those back home in the midwest, tennis shoes, yes I said it), and fur, lots of fur!

The Closet Of Your Dreams At MAHNA MAHNA

Welcome to the closet of your dreams! This week I had the opportunity to play dress up at Mahna Mahna with two fabulous friends and collaborators, Liz Teich and Leah Snow. Both Leah and Liz are stylists, and know how to put a serious outfit together! Mahna Mahna is a fashion wardrobe rental company for stylists and celebrities. They’re roots are based in Tokyo, Japan, where they opened their first showroom. I love this because not only do they carry amazing high end and contemporary designers but they also have super cool Japanese designers.

One of my favorite parts about fashion week is getting a sense of every ones personal style. Everyone goes big and shows off their particular look at the shows. Liz, Leah and I all have very different senses of style and had a great time putting together looks that showed that off. My personal sense of style tends to be a melding of downtown girl, meets rocker chic, meets preppy glam. We each chose two looks to feature and show off our style, see below for all the fun!

Maison Martin Margiela top // Ashish skirt // E.Kammeyer Accessories necklace and tassel bracelet // Charlotte Olympia shoes

New York Fashion Week Recap- The Accessories!

Shockingly, one of my favorite parts of fashion week is the accessories. Last season we saw a new crop of handbags popping up with fabulous innovative handles, see Milly. This season we are still seeing a similar handle design but in a brand new way!

Tanya Taylor showed us the bag we’ve all been wanting for the perfect Summer night out on the town!

If you are dying for it like I am you can pre-order at Moda Operandi.

If you know me, you know I love shoes (even with my insanely large shoe size, ie I fight men for shoes at

sample sales). Jen Kao hit the mark when it came to runway shoes this season. Absolutely loving the

simplicity of the leather platform mules and the super textural multi-color platform raffia mules.

Current season of Jen Kao.

I am such a sucker for a great statement necklace, and Tanya Taylor hit the mark by pairing the candy

colored jewels of Shourouk. The bold baubles were the PERFECT pairing for the fabulous pops

of color in Taylor’s collection.

Aurelio Costarella‘s collection of bridal and evening gowns were show stopping. But perfectly

perched on top was this beautiful encrusted birdcage veil. Demure yet chic and vintage.

Here’s a little taste of what I was accessorizing with this NYFW 🙂

Image #1 Coach handbag, E.Kammeyer Accessories tassel bracelets, Tom Binns safety pin cuff.

Image #2 vintage magazine purse.

Image #3- Miu Miu studded glitter high top sneakers

Lastly a little fun, check out the high tech accessories on two of the attendees at the Jen Kao show.

A little preview of what Google Glass could be used for…fashion may never be the same.

What were your favorite accessories on the runway this season? Check back this week for NYFW recap part 3!
